Swift
Originally from Wolverhampton but now residing in Southampton, Swift is a man who seems to be making a name for himself with his new mixtape all up on DatPiff.com. ‘Swag Music’ is exactly what it says on the tin, and there’s some nice tracks on there. Lee Wellman went to find out more…
When did you release your first song?
What’s been your biggest track so far to date?
I got a good reception for my 'Not Typical' track and 'What You Want', so probably them two!
Who produces your music?
Mostly me, I mix master and level pretty much all my tracks I do some of my own beats but I don't have a specific producer I work with at the moment.
What record label are you on?
I'm unsigned
Have you released any music videos?
No not yet
Being independent can be a grind! How are you finding it?
Hard work, i've been doing music for a while but 2009 is pretty much my debut year, ‘Swag Music’ being the first release of the year, so I'm just trying to go on and do bigger and better things!
What are your thoughts on digital distribution?
I'm all for it, its great for artists like me, you can get your music out without being on a label.
Do you have an agent for bookings/tours?
Nope! Right now it's just me!
Have you had much DJ support? Radio play? Mixtape features? I've had support from Tricksta from wolftown recordings in the past, My recent Tape is hosted by DJ Grind and i've featured on mixtapes by Dave Barz and worked with Money Minded Ent so far I seem to get more love from the US! i have a a couple more US features on my next CD too and a few more in the works.
What subject matters do you cover in your lyrics?
Right now i'm just talking about my life, the good the bad and the funny!
Tell us a bit about your style.
I'm heavily influence by US hip hop and it shows in my style but at the same time i'm just being me which I think creates a pretty unique sound.
Outside of music how do you relax?
Chill with my mates, play Xbox listen to music, usual stuff!
What can people expect from you in the near future?
A Lot more music! and I'm real experimental right now so I'm trying all kinds of different things!
Do you have a website or My Space page?
